Who We Are.

The Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) is a multi-funded indigenous not-for-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2010 to promote better health outcomes for all Nigerians through sustainable partnerships and locally adapted, rigorously tested approaches by applying our collective learnings and experiences. CIHP evolved from Columbia University’s International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) in 2010 and has continued to support the provision of quality public health programs in Nigeria.

We deliver equitable, accountable, evidence based, people centered public health interventions that are transparent and accessible to everyone, regardless of age, sex or gender. We have achieved demonstrable successes and established innovative landmarks over the course of our twelve (12) years of operations, including experience in rapid programmatic design, mobilization of technical assistance and direct health service delivery. Our mandate aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and is fueled by a passion to ensure no woman, child or man in Nigeria is left behind as we strive to achieve good health and wellbeing for all.

CIHP has a wide portfolio which includes; Comprehensive HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment, Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health plus Nutrition (RMNCAH + N), Vaccination, capacity building and skills development, community-based interventions and programs, and other cross cutting areas such as gender infused programming and scientific research including implementation science.

Brief History

Since inception in 2010, we have operated as a local implementing partner serving vulnerable and marginalized populations in hard-to-reach and low- and middle-income settings across Nigeria with support from multi-lateral organizations, local and international foundations.

CIHP had, and currently implements grants from multiple funders; U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Institute for Human Virology (IHVN), World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), through ITAD, UK and FHI 360, National Institute of Health (NIH), International AIDS Society (IAS), and the MTN Foundations.

We have a proven track record in the design of innovative strategies and community intervention models, as well as demonstrable strength and capability in multi-stakeholder engagement and management across national and sub-national levels.

We historically and continuously demonstrate growth oriented technical capacities tailored to meet the public health needs of Nigerians inclusive of vulnerable groups in hard to reach and difficult terrains across 17 Nigerian States; Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Benue, Niger, Katsina, Ogun, Taraba, Delta, Abia, Nasarawa, FCT-Abuja, Gombe, Kogi, Kaduna, Lagos, Osun and Jigawa.

Our stories continue to showcase unmatched skills and dedication of our staff and volunteers on the frontline, retaining our passion for all our collective and sustained efforts, transforming lives and adapting against all odds even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
