An act of social responsibility maximizes positive change in any society and if delivered with honesty, it is the most empowering element of service to communities in need.

Upon this ideal, MTN Nigeria through its impact arm, MTN Foundation, conceived the YDMMIS project as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community agenda while onboarding CIHP to field implement.

From managing logistics operations to activating primary health care solutions, we lent our profound expertise around an outreach effort aided by a resident health workforce and mobile clinics.

Across 396 communities in fifty (50) LGAs of the six (6) partnership states, CIHP conducted both screening and treatment interventions in the area of maternal and child health, common adolescent and adult diseases/conditions including malaria, pneumonia, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), tuberculosis, high blood pressure and diabetes. The provision of referral services was also a key focus.

A unique, tripartite partnership.

Aside being a thoughtful CSR initiative by MTN, rolling out the MTNF-YDMMIS project would see CIHP interface with critical stakeholders in the beneficiary states of Delta, Ogun, Abia, Katsina, Niger, and Taraba. We coordinated advocacy and sensitization town hall meetings with the States’ Ministry of health (SMOH), traditional gatekeepers and key agencies.

We sourced for human resources in health—through the State Governments—to conduct basic medical outreaches within the project’s vision template and using efficient, state-of-the-art mobile clinics.
