At Mushin General Hospital, Lagos, a 3-month intervention proves impactful in the implementation of Tuberculosis (TB) ClinicLaboratory Interface Continuous Quality Improvement (TBCLICQI), which is aimed at improving TB case finding, evaluation, treatment initiation, and retention throughout treatment, as well as to improve turnaround time associated with TB diagnosis and treatment. GH Mushin is one of CIHP’s selected facilities. It offers comprehensive ART services among other health care services. It recorded the following improvements in TBCLICQI.

Pre-intervention status.
Prior to the intervention, the TB Diagnostic Cascade showed
significant gaps at multiple points of the cascade

Post Intervention Status. Following TBCLICQI intervention, we achieved a smooth and optimized TB diagnostic cascade with better quality of healthcare for TB patients, and an increase in TB case findings.

The facility also reviewed their process flow/map and clearly documented a more comprehensive clinic flow which was then made available to all clinic staff and is now the standard. There is now increased program ownership and commitment by facility staff.
