For a project that primarily targeted caregivers and their children, Mohammed Abubakar’s story highlights a high level of impact.

As the only male among 20 caregivers on the LEOPOD project in Bida Local Government Area, Niger state, Mohammed defied odds to complete his daughter’s vaccination. When asked the reason for his motivation, he claimed to be standing in for his wife who is usually busy, as he was also passionate about vaccination.

Mohammed happy about his daughter’s vaccination

Equally particular about his daughter’s well-being, Mohammed went extra lengths to vaccinate his daughter, despite financial and transportation constraints.

Once I started this vaccination, week in, week out, I trekked from my home to the health facility. Even in the absence of my wife, I wasn’t bothered because I want my baby to be healthy. I needed to take care of her!MOHAMMED ABUBAKAR
